Association des Exportateurs du Cacao Café de la RD Congo (ASSECCAF)
The Association des Exportateurs du Cacao Café de la RD Congo (ASSECCAF) is a member-led private sector association of cocoa and coffee exporters.
ASSECCAF’s main goal is to defend the interests of exporters and other private sector stakeholders involved in the agricultural export sector in order to contribute to the improvement of the business climate and to promote a competitive trade throughout both sectors in the Democratic Republic of Congo.
Objectives of ELAN’s Partnership
Intervention 1 – Cocoa/Coffee
The first partnership was largely focused on convening private sector stakeholders who sought to formalize under one banner—a nationally recognized group representing cocoa and coffee exporters throughout the country.
Intervention 2 – Cocoa/Coffee
Strengthening private sector industry associations, setting out to refine advocacy and lobbying strategies, restructure membership fees tied to exports to align fees with operational expenditures, diversify member services and offerings, and to develop member retention and growth strategies—all the while promoting an increasingly collaborative environment to foster improved public-private relations.
