Established in 1995, Ets. Muvunga is a private exporter of raw commodities. Focused on the exportation of coffee since inception, in 2002, Muvunga expanded operations and diversified its offerings, moving into quinine, rauwolfia, pigeum, papaya latex and grain of Calabar. In 2013, the group began exporting cocoa through its network of depots in Butembo and Beni, and under direction from their head office in Butembo.

Objectives of ELAN’s Partnership

Targeting improved operations, productivity, and the potential for value addition at each level, teamed to work across strategically identified cocoa-growing zones to establish an interconnected network of coordinated treatment and buying stations equipped with fermentation units, drying tables, and storage facilities, in concert with internal capacity building efforts to bolster extension efforts and reach more producers with training in Good Agricultural Practices (GAP).
