New entrepreneurship information available by calling 155

Some of the issues facing entrepreneurs in the DRC are the lack of readily available information on how to start a business and a lack of skills and knowledge to further develop existing activities.

To address this constraint, ELAN RDC has worked with Viamo and local partners to design training materials for entrepreneurs. In order to make them as accessible as possible we have chosen the form of questions and answers, ranging from “how to choose a product for your business” to “how to manage your account book” and “how to register your business”, to name a few. These materials are now available in five local languages (French, Lingala, Swahili, Kikongo and Tshiluba) through the 155 shortcode, managed by Viamo and supported by Vodacom. Vodacom users have ten free calls per month.

This initiative adds onto other materials (Financial education, Agriculture, Mobile Money) that ELAN RDC made available on the same Viamo platform previously.
