With four years, Bas is one of the longest serving members of the Elan RDC team. In this time he occupied various critical roles during the scoping, roll-out, scale-up and close-out phases of the project. Bas has extensive field experience and a strong track record in private sector development with proven successes in transport and agriculture. Investments structured over four years at Elan RDC have led to the sustainable delivery of critical products and services to previously un-serviced demographics. This includes the sale of 200 MT of OPV and hybrid seed to low-income, first-time buyers in Eastern DRC in 2017 and the transport of an additional 3.600 MT of agricultural commodities through river transport systems in Western DRC between 2014 and 2018. He was also central to the installation of the Eastern Africa Grain Council’s RATIN market information system and the seed sector studies conducted by The African Seed Access Index in Eastern and Southern DRC in 2017 and 2018. Bas is results-oriented and subscribes to a collaborative, innovative and data-driven approach to work.
Bas completed a MA International Studies and Diplomacy at the School of African Studies in London and a BA Liberal Arts (Honors) focused on Law and Political Science at the University College Roosevelt in Middelburg.
