As the Perennial Agriculture Sector Lead and member of ELAN RDC’s core technical leadership team, Kevin’s responsibilities include country-wide oversight of the end-to-end technical design, partnership development and management, program implementation, reporting and communications of ELAN’s cocoa and coffee work—a portfolio that has grown to >$1.8MM.

Since joining in 2016, Kevin has led the AGP-Specialty Crops team and attracted new partners with whom to work in order to encourage market systems change in line with the retooled sector strategy and interventions built around the following key pillars:

  1. improved marketplace transparency and increased visibility for all actors throughout DRC’s cocoa and coffee value chains;

  2. level the playing field and empower previously underrepresented value chain stakeholders through the increased access and enhanced quality of value adding and operational streamlining systems, tools, and information;

  3. Infuse best practices to drive competitiveness and relevance within the regional and global marketplace;

  4. Strengthen industry associations;

  5. And Bolster public-private collaboration to support marketing and business environment improvements.


Kevin received a B.A. in communications and public relations (summa cum laude), holds a certificate in global postharvest loss prevention through the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, and has undertaken graduate coursework through the U.S. Department of Agriculture Graduate School.
