KAMANO SEED Company Limited

Founded in 2004, KAMANO SEED produces improved seeds and markets them mainly to smallholder farmers. Registered in Zambia, Kamano Seed employs 32 permanent workers in about 14 temporary workers. Its headquarters are at 12922, Mumbwa Road | P.Box 35330, Lusaka, Zambia.

Kamano Seed has also established a branch in the DRC registered as RCCM CD / LSH / RCCM / 18-B-00301. It has its headquarters at no. 8083, Av. Ditu, Q / Golf Lido, C / Lubumbashi, V / Lubumbashi, P / Haut-Katanga and employs 2 workers.

Objectives of Elan’s partnership

The partnership concluded in December 2017 with ÉLAN RDC aims to facilitate the entry of Kamano Seed into the DRC market, to facilitate access to quality seeds and technical assistance for smallholder farmers. The aim is to get Kamano Seed to enter the market of smallholder producers in the DRC by starting with Lualaba and Haut-Katanga, setting up an efficient distribution network (at least 15 points of sale and 15 sales agents in 2018), and the establishment of at least 100 demonstration fields.
